Poster competition

Thank you to everyone that submitted poster abstracts and congratulations to the winners of the Poster Competition at the Tokyo tour stop. The winning posters will continue to the Global Poster Competition, where two global winners will be announced after the last tour stop in Shanghai.

Winner in the Research category with the poster titled The effect of masticatory loads on the biological apatite crystal orientation of bone surrounding a TiOblast implant.

Scientific Committee comments:
Japan is world-leading in the study of  biological apatite (BAp) crystal orientation, Dr. Sasaki’s presentation was a superior study in originality and novelty which proves usefulness of the micro thread by the anew BAp crystal orientation.

Winner in the Research category with the poster titled "The effect of masticatory loads on the biological apatite crystal orientation of bone surrounding a TiOblast implant".

Nobuhiro Yoda

Winner in the Clinical Application category with the poster titled Investigation of bone morphological change in maxillary anterior buccal bone on implant: a clinical and numerical study.

Scientific Committee comments:
The study was a presentation of high scientific value. It showed the possibility to diagnose, with digital technology, the appropriate bone thickness of the labial side of the implant to avoid bone resorption. By repeating a case, this study suggests the possibility to be able to calculate the mean of necessary bone thickness.

Jan Lindhe

Jan Lindhe is Professor emeritus of Gothenburg University, Sweden. He has published research on etiology and pathogenesis of periodontal disease, effect of treatment procedures, preventive dentistry and implant dentistry.


Marc Quirynen, CHAIRMAN
Marc Quirynen, CHAIRMAN

Marc Quirynen is Professor at the Faculty of Medicine (Department Periodontology) of the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. His research area deals mainly with microbiology, implantology, and the use of L-PRF. He has published over 400 papers in international peer-reviewed journals. He is associate editor of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, and member of the editorial board of Clinical Oral Implants Research, Journal of Dental Research, Periodontal Practice Today, and Parodontologie.
